The Valley of the Queens was the burial place of the queens in ancient Egypt and was known in antiquity as “Ta-Set-Nefru,” which means “the place of the Pharaoh’s sons” or “the place of beauty.” Here the queens of the 18th, 19th, and 20th dynasties were buried, and their tombs were maintained by priests who carried out daily burial rituals. The valley is located near the famous Valley of the Kings on the west bank of the Nile in Luxor Governorate.

Valley of the Queens & Luxor Temple Excursion

We will pick you up from your hotel early in the morning with a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle and start the 230-kilometer journey from Safaga to Luxor (the route varies from Marsa Alam). During the trip, you will enjoy the impressive desert landscape with its volcanic-like mountains shaped by nature. As soon as we reach the Nile Valley, you will get authentic insights into the rural everyday life of the Egyptian villages.

Having arrived in Luxor, our exciting program begins. Our first stop is the Ramses III memorial temple complex, known as the Habu Temple. This impressive complex, which served the cult of the deceased pharaoh and the worship of the god Amun, is considered one of the last great buildings of the heyday of the pharaohs.

In the Valley of the Queens you will be impressed by the beautiful, colorful tombs. Then enjoy a delicious Egyptian lunch in Thebes-West, freshly prepared with regional specialties.

A short trip by motorboat across the Nile will allow you to admire the picturesque landscape of the biblical Nile Valley. On the east side of Luxor we will visit the Luxor Temple dedicated to the goddess Mut.

After an eventful day, we will make our way back to Hurghada, where you will arrive back at your hotel around 20:00.
