Experience Luxor in a memorable and tailor-made way.

Day 1 in Luxor:

Early in the morning you will be picked up from your hotel between 5 and 6 o'clock. In a comfortable, air-conditioned car, you will drive through the desert on the newly developed road. After about 2 hours, take a short break at a rest stop to use the toilet or stretch your legs. The journey continues to Qena, where you will drive through the green and densely populated Nile Valley and get an insight into everyday Egyptian life. Around 10 am you will reach Luxor and first visit the imposing temple complex of Karnak with its famous Pillar Hall and the Holy Lake. Then take the bus to the centrally located Luxor Temple, which houses the famous mosque of Abu el-Hagag. Then you will experience Luxor from the water by crossing the Nile with a motorboat. You will enjoy your lunch in an Egyptian restaurant to taste typical local dishes. The bus will then take you back to the hotel, where you will have time for a refreshment and maybe a short nap to recover for the evening. Optionally, you can experience the sound and light spectacle in the Karnak Temple in the evening (bookable on site, about 1 hour). After that, the evening is at your leisure.

Day 2 in Luxor:

After breakfast at the hotel, you will drive to Thebes-West in the morning to explore the famous Valley of the Kings with the tombs of the pharaohs of the New Kingdom, including the tomb of the golden pharaoh Tutankhamun. Then you will visit the terrace temple of Queen Hatshepsut, one of the greatest female builders in history. Afterwards, admire the colossal statues of Amenophis III, known as the Colossi of Memnon, before fortifying yourself with a typical lunch in Thebes-West for the return trip to Hurghada. On the way back, relax on the bus and enjoy the afternoon along the Nile. At about 18 o'clock you will return to your hotel and can earn your dinner. On this two-day excursion from Hurghada or Marsa Alam to Luxor, you will explore the famous sights of the city.
