The valley extends over the 18th to 20th dynasties and lies west of the Nile, opposite Thebes (today Luxor). It is divided into two areas:

East Valley – Here lie most of the royal tombs.

Day trip to Luxor and the Valley of the Kings

Early in the morning you will be picked up from your hotel and drive in a modern, comfortable and air-conditioned car via Safaga along the newly developed desert road. After about 225 km you will reach the Nile Valley in Qena. On the way, you will stop at a rest stop to take a break, stretch your legs or use the toilet.

After a short break, we continue on the densely populated country road to Luxor (about 60 km). During the trip you will see many small and large villages and get insights into the typical Egyptian everyday life.

Once in Luxor, your adventure begins. After a short refreshment break, you will visit the largest temple complex in the world with the impressive pillar hall. Then the bus will take you to Thebes West, where you will enjoy a typical lunch.

After the lunch break, you will explore the world-famous Valley of the Kings and visit the impressive royal tombs. New: Taking pictures with the mobile phone in the graves is now allowed without flash and without charge! Afterwards you will visit the terrace temple of Queen Hatshepsut, an excellent location for fascinating photos. Your visit ends at the impressive Colossi of Memnon.

On the way back, you will have time to review the impressions of the day or to observe the hustle and bustle on the Nile. You will return to your hotel around 20 o'clock. This day trip to Luxor and the Valley of the Kings will be remembered for a long time.
